What makes early childhood hiring hard
- Required qualifications. Every role requires a specific qualification. A candidate without the right one can't count toward staffing ratios.
- Ratios to maintain. An open position can force a center to take fewer children. You have to hire fast.
- Directors who are already stretched. Between families, the team and schedules, hiring gets squeezed in wherever it fits.
How the Jobtrain integration works
- Access authorized. An admin on your Jobtrain account authorizes access from Delectus.
- Applications imported. Jobs, applications and resumes arrive in Delectus, read-only.
- Prescreening. The agent checks qualification, preferred center and availability.
What the Jobtrain integration adds
Jobtrain is your recruiting software: you post your jobs and track your applications there. Delectus adds a read of every resume, spots the qualification the job asks for and ranks candidates with the reasons behind the ranking. The summary flags what's missing, so you don't waste an interview.
The prescreening questions come from each job. For an assistant teacher, that means the qualification, the preferred center, opening hours and start date.
Example: fifteen daycare centers and substitutes to plan for
A network of fifteen daycare centers needs to hire assistant teachers and early childhood educators for the fall, plus substitutes for the year. The jobs are posted from Jobtrain. Delectus surfaces qualified candidates, and the SMS prescreening agent asks them which centers they can get to, whether they can cover opening or closing, and whether they're interested in substitute work.
Each director sees the candidates interested in her center and gets a meeting on her calendar, synced with Outlook or Teams. Candidates open to substitute work are kept in the candidate database for absences during the year.
The same process works for director or cook roles, with their own criteria. Center directors keep the decision, and the network lead sees where each search stands, center by center, on the jobs' kanban boards.
A respectful first conversation with candidates
The agent introduces itself as an AI, asks for the candidate's consent and asks its questions in short messages. If there's no reply after two follow-ups, the voice agent calls. If the person still can't be reached, you're notified. The AI doesn't reject any candidate: it ranks and explains, and your teams decide.
Interviews that get to the point
The interview kit prepared for an assistant teacher centers on real situations: a child crying at drop-off, a worried parent, an activity that needs adapting. The director runs the interview with these questions and notes the answers in the candidate profile. The interview can also take place over video in the platform, with a live transcript, when the candidate can't come in.
Your Jobtrain data stays untouched
Delectus reads your jobs and applications without writing anything to Jobtrain. The imported data is hosted in the European Union and follows your retention periods.
Frequently asked questions
Does Delectus replace Jobtrain?
No. Jobtrain stays your recruiting software. Delectus works alongside it.
Does Delectus change data in Jobtrain?
No, the connection is read-only.
How do I connect Jobtrain to Delectus?
An admin on your account authorizes access from Delectus during setup.
Can we keep candidates for substitute work?
Yes. They stay in your candidate database and are suggested to you when a substitute need comes up.
Does the AI verify qualifications?
It spots the qualifications the job asks for in the resume. Checking the actual certificate is still up to your teams.
